In addition to being the main ingredient in those beautiful acai (ah-sigh-ee) bowls, you can use the frozen packets to create delicious smoothies.  For starters, try this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen acai packet
  • 1 medium banana, peeled and quartered
  • 1 cup frozen dark cherries
  • 1 tablespoon of hemp seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of unsalted natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Instructions:

  1. Run frozen acai packet under warm water.
  2. Open acia packet and add to blender.
  3. Place all remaining ingredients in a blender and blend until creamy, adding more almond milk or frozen cherries to thin or thicken.
